The Strait and Narrow opened in 2012 and we haven’t looked back since. As an independent bar at the top of Lincoln High Street, our mission has always been simple - to put the right drink in your hand - 100s of beers, an incredible cocktail menu featuring classics, twists and tons of our own signature cocktails PLUS our famous local independent business collabs!
We work with the best brewers, distillers and vintners to do this - served of course by our S&N super dope award winning bartenders. We want you to come and try amazing drinks, socialise and have a fun time - plenty of bang for your buck is our thing.

An internal landline telephone network with a phone on every table (plus one in the grandfather clock)? Yep. Grab a phone and ring a table in the other room, make friends, tell jokes or simply romance the pants off whoever you’re talking to you. Your choice but we want an invite to the wedding.

When I was 12 I dreamed of becoming a pastry chef. Call this a creative outlet for that dream, and a beer that set the spark for similar beers to come. Thick, rich and excessively decadent, this beer aims to bring back childhood memories. Brewed with aromas.

A love letter to time and craftsmanship. This coconut porter, originally a homebrew sensation, now reaches new heights with a blend of one-, two-, and three-year bourbon barrel-aged beer. Layers of toasted coconut, silky maple, and deep oak intertwine, balancing sweetness with a refined tannic edge. Aged, blended, and carefully composed. Lorelei 2025 is an experience best savored.
Since 2019 we have added extra maple and coconut toasted to transcendence. A worthy continuation of one of the world’s most badass porters.

A collaborative beer , this Works of Love was primary fermented in puncheons, aged on lees for nine months, and then conditioned on wild Maine blueberries and vanilla beans.

Strait Up Cocktails is the creation of The Strait and Narrow, a multi award winning bar based in the heart of Lincoln. Taking everything we’ve learnt here, we threw caution to the wind in 2020 and launched our own Bottled Cocktails Range which you guessed it….. is Strait Up Cocktails. We want everyone to be able to enjoy bar quality cocktails without needing a masters in mixology. Our cocktails are designed to be the easiest cocktails you will ever make, just chill, shake and pour! It really is that simple.
